WHO CAN ENTER

This competition is open, subject to any other qualifications in these terms and conditions, to all residents of the United Kingdom (excluding Northern Ireland) who are aged 21 years or over with a valid email address, except for employees of the Promoter, its associated companies, agents, third parties or anyone else professionally connected with this competition. Proof of age may be required.

By submitting a competition entry, you are agreeing to be bound by these terms and conditions. The instructions provided at the point of entry form part of the terms and conditions of this competition. In the event of a conflict, these terms and conditions take precedence. 

No purchase necessary. There is no charge to submit an entry via the website at Waitrose.com/winbritishcolumbia. 

DEADLINE FOR ENTRIES

Entries must be received between 00:01 on 27th April 2023 and 23:59 on 28th June 2023 (the “Closing Date”). Entries received after the Closing Date will not be accepted. Competition will be live for duration for May and June Waitrose Food Mag issues.

HOW TO ENTER

To enter, simply go to Waitrose.com/winbritishcolumbia, follow the competition instructions at the top of the page and submit your details and other required information using the online form provided.

There is a limit of one entry per person. Multiple entries submitted directly or with the use of any automated systems will not be entered into the draw.

No responsibility will be accepted for entries that are lost, delayed, mislaid or damaged in transit, regardless of the cause, including, for example, as a result of any equipment failure, technical malfunction, systems, network, server, computer hardware or software failure of any kind. 

Those entries not in accordance with the rules will be void and will entitle the Promoter to exclude the entry from the competition; any entry containing false, incomplete or misleading information will be void and will entitle the Promoter to exclude the entry from the competition. 

THE PRIZE

The prize will follow the North America Travel Services ‘BC Culinary Connoisseurs’ itinerary, which includes two return economy class tickets from London to Vancouver, 14 days car rental (Inclusive of Loss Damage Waiver, Unlimited Mileage, Liability Protection, Provincial and Local Taxes.  

Drivers must be over 21 years to drive in Canada and present a valid UK driver’s license together with a ‘named driver’ credit card to cover any extra charges) and 13 nights’ accommodation (one room). 

Holiday Prize to be taken no later than June 30th 2024. 

Seasonal blackout periods apply:

01 July 2023 – 5 September 2023

15 December 2023 – 5 January 2024

23 March 2024 – 7 April 2024

Personal expenses, travel insurance, visa fees, costs of passports, spending money, optional car rental charges, meals, drinks, tours and excursions, airport transfers between the prize winner’s home and the departure airport; and any other incidentals are the winner's responsibility, as are any chosen upgrades requested by the winner. Any additional taxes, costs and expenses incurred during the trip will be the responsibility of the prize winner.

Prizes are subject to availability. They are non-transferable, non-refundable and, unless stated, there are no cash alternatives. In the event that the prize is out of stock or if circumstances beyond the Promoter’s control make it necessary to do so, the Promoter reserves the right to substitute another item, in its sole discretion, of equal or higher value. 

In the event of cancellation by the winner, for whatever reason, no alternative prize will be given. 

The Promoter will not be held liable for a prize if it does not reach the winner for reasons beyond its reasonable control.

WINNER SELECTION

All valid and, if applicable, correct entries received by the Closing Date will be entered into a prize draw, and the winners will be picked at random.  

The winner’s details (surname and county only) will be available for one month after the Closing Date by sending a request to the Promoter by at Waitrose Limited, Media Team, Floor 2, Waite House, Doncastle Road, Southern Industrial Area, Bracknell RG12 8YA, enclosing a stamped self-addressed envelope, or alternatively by emailing customerserviceteam@waitrose.co.uk.

WINNER NOTIFICATION

Winners will be notified by email, text or phone call as soon as practicable after the prize draw, using the contact details provided with the competition entry. The winners will be required to respond within [30 days] of notification (unless otherwise stated) confirming their acceptance of the prize. In the event winners do not respond to communications within this period or if any prize is declined, the Promoter reserves the right to disqualify that winner and draw another winner. 

Please allow [30] days from the date of the winner’s address verification for delivery of the prize.

We will treat all of your personal data as confidential. We will keep it on a secure server and fully comply with all applicable privacy regulations and consumer legislation. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

The Promoter and its associated agencies, companies and distributors will not be liable for any loss (including, without limitation, indirect, special or consequential loss or loss of profits), expense or damage which is suffered or sustained (whether or not arising from any person’s negligence) in connection with this competition or accepting or using the prize, except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law (including liability for fraud or death or personal injury arising from negligence) in which case that liability is limited to the minimum allowable by law. Your statutory rights are not affected.

If you have opted-in to receive further information or marketing from any of the Promoter’s agents or suppliers involved in the administration of this competition, you understand and accept that the relevant third party will be solely responsible for any processing of your personal data for these purposes, that such processing will be governed by terms of that third party’s privacy policy and that the Promoter accepts no responsibility or liability in association with any such data processing for these purposes.

GENERAL

If there is any reason to believe that there has been a breach of these terms and conditions or if the Promoter believes that your conduct may be unlawful or otherwise bring the competition into disrepute, the Promoter may, at its sole discretion, reserve the right to make your entry void and will entitle the Promoter to exclude you from participating in the competition. 

The decision of the Promoter regarding any aspect of the competition is final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into.

The Promoter reserves the right to suspend, cancel, or amend the prize competition where it becomes necessary to do so, with no liability to any entrants or third parties.

This promotion and these terms and conditions are governed by English law and subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
