what does wok oil taste like?

As it’s a garlic-infused blend of sunflower, sesame and ginger oils, it’s a great head start towards the aromatic and subtly nutty stir-fry flavours you’re aiming for.

tips, tricks & hacks

  • Add strips of steak to sizzling Wok Oil, along with chunky green pepper and red onion, drizzle over some oyster sauce, and toss through cooked noodles.
  • Use to stir-fry spring onion, ginger and chopped chilli before adding veg stock, miso and noodles for a bowl of ramen-style Asian broth.

  • Add a splash before frying eggs to top a bowl of nasi goreng.

easy meal idea

Sausage & pineapple fried rice

The Wok Oil bestows a few of the key flavours of this simple stir fry. You can vary the veg depending on what you’ve got in your fridge.

  1. Stir together equal amounts of sriracha, hoisin, oyster sauce and peanut butter. Set aside.

  2. Place a wok on a high heat and, when hot, add the Wok Oil. Add some chopped salad onions (white parts), sliced red pepper and matchsticks of carrot. Fry till the veg is beginning to soften, then add chunks of skinned sausage and cook until taking on some colour.

  3. Add shredded savoy cabbage and cook until starting to wilt, then add cooked, cooled rice. Stir-fry for 5 minutes, then add pineapple chunks, frozen peas and the reserved sauce. Cook until everything is piping hot, then top with lengths of salad onion greens to serve.
