Pink Pimm’s

Half-fill a large jug or pitcher with ice. Tip in 12 hulled and sliced strawberries, then add 300ml Pimm’s No 1 Cup, 300ml soda water and 600ml pomegranate juice drink. Stir and garnish with mint sprigs. For classic Pimm’s, swap the soda and pomegranate juice for 900ml lemonade and add orange and cucumber to the strawberries.

PARTY platters
An easy-breezy party platter maxes out on flavour but needs minimum effort.
The CHEESE platter
For an impressive party platter, arrange British cheeses and savouries (try our recipe for the cheese straws) on a large board surrounded by fruit, celery, biscuits and pickles. Some of our selections are from the cheese counter in store – handy because you can ask the Partner for however much you need. But feel free to mix and match, and choose ingredients that suit your taste and budget.
Cheese straws
The perfect party nibble, you can make these in advance, freeze and bake when you need them.
The MEZZE platter
A well-put-together grazing board always goes down well. Aim for a selection of colours, textures and flavours plus a few showstopper elements – this is a party after all. Here, our marinated goat’s cheese and stuffed vine leaves do the job nicely. It’s also worth jazzing up ready-made dips with a drizzle of extra-virgin olive oil plus any extra spices or herbs scattered over.
Marinated goat’s cheese
Put 300ml olive oil, 6 sprigs lemon thyme, 2 finely sliced red chillies and ½ tsp fennel seeds in a small pan. Cook over a medium heat for 5 minutes then remove from the heat and leave to cool. Scoop out teaspoonfuls from 2 x 125g packs soft goat’s cheese and roll into balls then put into a jar or small bowl. Pour the cooled oil and flavourings over the goat’s cheese, cover and leave to infuse for 2 hours, or overnight in the fridge.
