Preparation and Usage

Important notice.Breastfeeding is best for your baby. Milupa Aptamil Follow on should be used only as part of a mixed diet and not as a breastmilk substitute before 6 months. Failure to follow preparation instructions carefully can be harmful to your baby's health. Do not allow prolonged or frequent contact of milk feeds with your baby's teeth as this increases the risk of tooth decay. Ask your health professional or dentist for advice. Make sure your baby's teeth are cleaned after the last feed at night.Feeding guide 6 - 24 months.Your baby may need more or less than shown in the table below which is provided as a guide. Never leave your baby alone when feeding.Approx. Age: 6 Months, No. of feeds per 24 hours: 5, Single Feed: 1 (x5 cartons per day).Approx. Age: 7-12 Months, No. of feeds per 24 hours: 3, Single Feed: 1 (x3 cartons per day).Approx. Age: 12+ Months, Approx. 1 pint (3 cartons) over 24 hours.From 6 months your baby will need approx 1 pint (500-600ml) per day. Milupa Aptamil Follow on is specially formulated to help meet the increased nutritional needs of infants from 6 to 24 months. This information is given as a guide only. Consult your healthcare professional if you require more advice. The UK Department of Health and the Food Safety Authority of Ireland recommend that cows' milk is not given as your baby main milk drink until after 12 months as cows' milk contains very little iron or vitamins C and D.Preparing the feed.Please follow these instructions carefully.1. Wash hands and sterilise all utensils following manufacturers instructions.2. Ensure the top of the carton is clean. Shake carton well and cut open where indicatedusing a clean pair of scissors. Pour the required amount of milk into a sterilised bottle or beaker.3. Milupa Aptamil Extra Hungry can be given at room temperature or warmed if desired. If warmed, check temperature of feed.4. Use the feed within one hour and always discard unfinished feeds.Feeding instructions.Infants should be supervised at all times when feeding.Do not heat feeds in a microwave. hot spots may occur and cause scalding.
